Structured data (sometimes called JSON-LD) helps search engines and AI tools understand your customer score and review comments more reliably. Putting this data into a structured format makes the information in your widgets clearer and easier to interpret by machines - while not affecting how your widget looks on the page. Using structured data can benefit your Google search ranking and how you appear in AI search results.
Structured data is implemented with our rating and comment widgets.

FAQs
What Is Structured Data?
Structured data is a standard way to describe content on a webpage using a machine-readable format. Customer Radar uses JSON-LD (JavaScript Object Notation for Linked Data) with the Schema.org vocabulary.
Search engines and AI crawlers use structured data to recognize things like your:
- Customer score
- Number of reviews
- Individual feedback comments
This helps them understand your review data more accurately.
Why Use Structured Data With Customer Radar
Customer Radar widgets display real customer feedback and ratings. Adding structured data ensures that:
✅ Search engines understand the meaning behind your customer score
✅ AI tools (like ChatGPT) can extract ratings and comments
Structured data does not change how your widget looks on your website.
How Structured Data Works With Widgets
Both our Comment and Rating widget works with structured data.
⭐ Rating Widget
Used to display:
- Average rating (e.g., 4.8)
- Number of ratings or reviews
💬 Comments Widget
Used to display individual feedback comments (with star rating and when the feedback was provided).
Fixed vs floating rating widgets
The rating widget can either be displayed as a fixed widget or a floating widget on your webpage. Each method loads slightly differently.
- Fixed widgets use an Iframe
- Floating widgets use JavaScript
Why This Matters
Search engines and AI platforms use web crawlers to read content on your website, including structured data.
Because fixed widgets load using an Iframe, the rating content is immediately visible in the page’s source. This makes it easier for web crawlers to detect and interpret.
Floating widgets rely on JavaScript to render content after the page loads. While modern search engines can process JavaScript, some crawlers and AI systems may not always render it in the same way.
Human vs Machine Readability
Floating widgets are often preferred for user experience and design flexibility
Fixed (Iframe) widgets are generally more consistent for machine readability
For best results, we recommend including both a floating widget (for optimal user experience) and a fixed widget (to support consistent machine readability).
This ensures your webpage is both easy for visitors to read and easy for search engines and AI systems to understand.
FAQs
Can I switch structured data off?
Yes, you can choose whether structured data is included with your widgets. This is useful if you want to control when markup appears on your webpages. Contact the Customer Radar Support team to switch structured data on or off.
Will this show stars next to my business name when searching in Google?
No, the stars (rich search results) are not added by Google when reviews are about a business. Stars only appear when the reviews are about a specific product.
